Self Love 101: How to Use Positive Affirmations

Are you running yourself ragged? Are you over-extending yourself? Are you setting aside time to recharge? Are you distancing yourself from the chaos? Are you finding a reason to smile? Are you giving yourself grace? Love starts inside, from within. You don’t always have to come last on your list of priorities. Join us for a special 14-day Self-Love series and find new ways to say “I love me!” 

Today's tip, to recite positive affirmations, is just a sneak peek at the first day of the series!

If you've never tried using affirmations before, it may feel incredibly awkward. Or maybe you're skeptical that they could work. There is actual theory and a good amount of neuroscience behind this simple practice. So there is science, not magic behind them. Positive affirmations require regular practice to make lasting, long-term changes to how you think and feel. How to Use Positive Affirmations

The mind is a powerful thing. We don’t always realize the impact our thoughts can have. When you look in the mirror, what thoughts come to mind? Do you find the flaws and focus on them? I think if we were all honest for a minute, we’d admit that far too often we speak negatively towards ourselves. “I’m not strong enough. I can’t do this. No one would find this attractive. I’ll never be like her.”

STOP. Don’t sabotage yourself like that. Start telling yourself the story you want to be a part of. Use positive language; speak truth over yourself. Try these…

  • I attract positivity and happiness.
  • I think in abundance, not scarcity.
  • I am secure in who I am.
  • I am present, patient, and calm.
  • I am becoming a better me every day.
Go one step further… write these down and post them on your wall. Or write them in your planner so you see them often. Recite them daily! Watch and see the magic happen!

I started falling in love with natural living in 2008... when I made the decision to take control of my health and be kinder to our planet by ditching harsh, toxic chemicals. I swapped out our cleaning supplies and started examining labels on our food and personal care products. Thankfully my husband jumped onboard, and we cleared out our pantry and started eating clean, real food (most of the time, anyway). Basically, we started a domino effect of natural wellness.

Devastatingly, doctors made me feel crazy about my symptoms for 25+ years. In 2017 I was finally diagnosed with Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome due to mold illness and late-stage Lyme Disease with co-infections. Though it hasn't been easy, I feel lucky to be as healthy as I am today, and I know (and my doctor agrees) it is because I made major lifestyle changes back then. THIS is why I am so passionate about living a healthy lifestyle and why I am driven to help you and your family on your own wellness path.
